Islamic Library to be available online soon

Bruneian scholars and researchers will soon have access to a complete Islamic knowledge centre boasting online capabilities, thanks to a contract signing made between Alif Technologies and the State Mufti’s Office. Rasidah Hab of The Brunei Times writes that the agreement will see to the digitalisation of the Perpustakaan Islam Brunei (also known as Brunei Islamic Library), where public access via the internet will become possible.

Alif’s role in this undertaking will be to provide the supply, design integration, and maintenance of the system that will run the project. This project, so-named the Islamic Digital Library System, will feature services such as an Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC), a book-borrowing station, Internet browsing, and a multimedia lab.

The contract was signed by Alif CEO Hj Mohd Arbi Hj Abdul Hamidm and Dato Paduka
